The Cotton States and Worldwide Exposition was the location for Booker T. Washington's speech advertising what turned called the Atlanta Compromise. He urged blacks to concentrate their efforts, not on demands for social equality, but to further improve their unique conditions by turning out to be proficient in abilities for readily available jobs
